J. Toney Releases Latest Single “Only One.”

When it comes to Oakland native artist J.Toney, his music is not only a vibe, it’s a testament. The Bay area rapper just released his latest single off of his highly anticipated album ‘The Testament,’ which is expected to drop in May.

“Only One,” is definitely a summer vibe. With R&B vocals and a smooth love rhythmic flow, it’s the perfect song to play for that special someone in your life or love interest. Love is in the air for J. Toney himself who recently just got engaged to Best Selling Author, Regina Lawless. His album is sure to be a mix of everything that has been transpiring in his life lately as he seeks inspiration from real life experiences. 

“The album’s inception took place during a transformative trip to Negril Jamaica where I crafted the track ‘Freshah,’ overlooking the ocean,” J Toney explains. “The Testament, is the evolution of a kid with a big dream.”

The Bay Area legend has had a strong first quarter. Last month he held a live band showcase in Oakland where he performed his most notable songs. The outpour of support was incredible with a packed venue of people enjoying the J. Toney experience. A recap of the event was posted to his Instagram page which can be found here. In addition to that, he was also invited to attend the 66th GRAMMY awards with his fiancé after being a 3x GRAMMY consideration contender. 

His music is inspired by his experiences growing up in the inner city of East Oakland. He makes music that people from similar situations can relate to. His hometown is always at the forefront of his music.

“My goal is to inspire,” said J. Toney. “I want to provide lyrical therapy to others facing similar challenging situations as me.”
