“The Spectacular Power of Fiery Christian Worship: Transforming Lives through powerful Devotion to God”

By  |

We all worship something. Think about it. What is your focus on mostly, that is what you worship. That is your heart’s desire. What is your idol? What bombards your thoughts throughout the day? The concept of worship is something that we’ve all had whether we are Christian or not. Be honest with yourself, what are you worshiping? For some people it’s sports. People worship their favorite football team and some their favorite basketball team. They spend hours on Reddit reading the new post or comment. They lurk through Twitter to see if their favorite player got traded. They stalk their favorite players on Instagram and like every post. Why do you think we have fan clubs and obsessions? I understand that it’s some more than others, but nonetheless, worship is real and we all do it.

The power of worship

In the secular world, when we worship, we can’t stop thinking about the thing and we know so much about the thing. We can tell you all the details about the idol that we are worshipping. Slowly, you start becoming what you worship. You start talking like it and you start acting like it. Have you ever got into a new hobby? If so, then you probably looked on YouTube trying to learn everything about your new hobby. You looked on Amazon to buy the newest and latest things related to your hobby. You start talking like a passionate person in the field that you are worshipping. Now, let’s talk about Christianity for a second. For Christians who worship Jesus there is power. How you ask? As we genuinely worship Christ we learn more about Christ, we get to know Him more. We want to pray more, we want to talk about Him more. We become enamoured with who He is. Everything becomes Christ because you realize, He’s all you need and He’s all you have. A great preacher wants said, “Jesus is everything or He’s nothing.” Those are indeed powerful words because you realize that this world wasn’t created for you, it was created for Him. In realizing this, everything gets put into perspective. As we pray and worship things happen. We become stronger in a spiritual sense and against sin and temptation. We become more dependant on the Lord. Your cares for the world begin to drown. The heart that worships experiences more of God and you realize that God is closer than you think. Do you want more devotion to God? Do you want more holiness? Do you want depth to your relationship with the Lord? If so, it’s time to get alone with the Lord and worship. It’s time to turn off the TV and turn off the PlayStation and run to a place where it’s only you and God. There is so much of God to experience. There is so much of Him that we don’t know yet and we don’t know because we don’t worship. Learn more in this Worship God Bible verse article.

Quotes to inspire your worship.

Here are several quotes from Christians that will inspire you to stop playing games that won’t matter in the end. Stop playing these games because there is something and someone that is greater. And that is God!

“Worship has been misunderstood as something that arises from a feeling which “comes upon you,” but it is vital that we understand that it is rooted in a conscious act of the will, to serve and obey the Lord Jesus Christ.” Graham Kendrick

God wants us to worship Him. He doesn’t need us, for He couldn’t be a self-sufficient God and need anything or anybody, but He wants us. When Adam sinned it was not He who cried, “God, where art Thou?” It was God who cried, “Adam, where art thou?” A.W. Tozer

Our heart’s desire should be to worship God; we have been designed by God for this purpose. If we don’t worship God, we’ll worship something or someone else. John Wimber

“Some go to church to take a walk; some go there to laugh and talk. Some go there to meet a friend; some go there their time to spend. Some go there to meet a lover; some go there a fault to cover. Some go there for speculation; some go there for observation. Some go there to doze and nod; the wise go there to worship God.” Charles Spurgeon

“So the crucial factor in worship in the church is not the form of worship, but the state of the hearts of the saints. If our corporate worship isn’t the expression of our individual worshiping lives, it is unacceptable. If you think you can live anyway you want and then go to church on Sunday morning and turn on worship with the saints, you’re wrong.” The Ultimate Priority, Moody Press 1983, p. 104. John MacArthur

Real worship creates joy that never ends

One of the most beautiful things about real Holy Spirit worship is that worship creates in us a joy that never ends. Worship takes our focus of self and puts them on Christ. You stop looking at what you don’t have and start seeing what you do have in Christ. When we worship the things of the world, we are never satisfied. Not only that, we are left dry and empty wanting more. With genuine worship, you will never be dry again.

Conclusion

Don’t you see the power of worship? Why not start today? Jesus is greater. I plead with you to start worshipping now.
