YDG is originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica. His interest in music began in childhood. He started by singing in the choir in church and school at just nine years. He has gone through these early stages of his profession through self-learning but has also taken some of his instrumental lessons and used to play the piano. His culture highly contributes to his sound. 

Currently, Dezzii is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and thus creates music based on mood. He can be upbeat and aggressive or laid-back. His music ideas come from events, memories, and the work of other artists. He is changing the trap genre proving there are no rules to creating prominent tracks. Fascinatingly, his name YDG stands for “You’re Destined for Greatness,” and Dezzii is certainly living up to greatness, inspiring many young people.
