28AV – “Banana” (Feat. Lil Mosey & Souf Souf) (Official Video)
Seattle-based rapper 28AV connects with hometown hitmaker Lil Mosey and buzzing local duo Souf Souf to release their summer smash, “B anana,” out today via H1GHR MUSIC. Directed by 28AV and OLEG KUD, the “Banana” video captures a wild pool party as the crew celebrate what is sure to be one of their biggest releases to date. Speaking with Complex about how the song came together, 28AV said, “If I told you how it happened you might not believe me, but it all happened on the love and we all came together from different parts of the city to show the world what that Seattle energy is about. Oh, and if you can’t tell from the video we had hella fun.” The track signifies a newfound unity within the city, bringing together Lil Mosey from the North, 28AV from Central and Souf Souf from the Southside. “Banana” comes on the heels of Lil Mosey’s recent breakout success with his single, “Blueberry Faygo,” which peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Growing up as a Russian refugee in Seattle’s notorious Central District, 28AV has overcome his fair share of challenges in pursuit of a music career. From homelessness, teenage incarceration and losing loved ones to gun violence, 28AV has been able to channel his toughest experiences into art. “I wanna show people that as long as there’s a glimpse of light in that window, you can grab that light and turn it into a full fledged enlightenment.” With the video already at 250k, you would be crazy if you didn’t check it out.
