Rising rap/ R&B artist La’Monte is ready to make waves in the music industry with the release of his debut EP She’s Around, streaming now!

La’Monte has been in and around music for many years. As a teenager, La’Monte learned how to play the piano. Later, he started to write songs and taught himself how to sing using the piano. Originally making R&B and pop music, La’Monte found himself drawn to rap music as his vocal abilities developed. Over the last five years, he has worked to continue to perfect his unique sound and craft, while also working as a 2D animator for other musicians.

On his debut She’s Around EP, La’Monte delivers four original songs. With his eclectic mix of jazz influences, calming piano melodies, orchestral forms, and acoustic rhythms, the album is an excellent introduction to his unique style. Speaking on the EP, La’Monte said that his music on the album is a generational representation and intimacy is a common theme that runs through each of the tracks. “The music on the album takes you back but is modern at the same time. The songs are like a drive on a summer’s night…Or the warm feeling of sitting in cozy coffee shop immersing yourself in the live music filling the space.”

The album’s intro track, “All I Ever Need is Her,” draws the listener in with a subtle moderate tempo and instrument decay with a jazz delivery that is both mellow and alluring. The second track, “Tonight,” features low-fidelity piano notes that both contrasts and compliments the third track, “She’s Around.” The title song brings in the sounds of banjo, inspired by the karate films of the 1970s. Finally, “Take it Slow,” is a perfect outro track that brings the listener back to the jazz influences where the album starts.
