Dear Callie: Singer, Songwriter, and More!

By  |

Atlanta-based singer and songwriter Callie Lee, known professionally as Dear Callie, has been making waves in the music industry since starting her journey at the age of five. With a background in Pop/Rhythmic, Dear Callie has been featured on Season 17 of THE VOICE and has lent her talents to notable artists such as Oprah Winfrey, KeKe Palmer, Toni Braxton, Monica, and 6lack. Check out the song Thick she wrote for KeKe Palmer.

Dear Callie’s passion for music began when she was part of a singing group called GIA (Girls in Atlanta), which she started at the age of 13. The group was discovered by talent manager Xeron Pledger, who signed them to an artist development deal. From there, her career has continued on an upward trend and brought us Soul Daddy and Excited, two amazing songs from Dear Callie!

In an interview, Dear Callie shared that her goal within the music industry is to “bring love back to the music.” She explained, “We can sing about luxuries and surface level toxicities but, there is a much more vulnerable side to music too. One that has no barriers of language, race, age or preferences. A side that everyone can feel.”

Among her proudest accomplishments, Dear Callie cited her first major placement, a song called “Thick” that she wrote for KeKe Palmer. She said she always tends to second guess herself when writing and this song taught her to trust herself. She went on to say “I knew I had created something special. The song got placed in less than a week and it was my first one!”

Currently, Dear Callie is an independent artist and continues to create and perform her own music. Fans can catch her on her Instagram, Spotify, YouTube, and find out more about her on her website.
