Boston Celtics Coach Ime Udoka Fumbles Nia Long By Cheating With Staffer

Ime Udoka, who is Nia Long’s longtime fiancé, is facing disciplinary action for having a consensual relationship with a woman apart of the the Boston Celtics staff. While Udoka’s job is not in jeopardy, he is likely going to be suspended for the entire 2022-2023 NBA season. Not only is this a problem for the Boston Celtics, but how did he fumble Nia Long. That’s right, the same Nia Long from Friday, Love Jones, Big Momma’s House, Soul Food, Boyz N The Hood, and The Best Man. Ime and Nia Long have been together since 2010 and have a son together. They got engaged in 2015 but Long has allegedly said they would never marry.

“Love is complicated, let’s just start there,” Nia told Essence. “And then you start a marriage, which I’ve never been married. And there’s a reason for that because I don’t know that I need to say ‘I do’ to prove to you that I love you. But also, what does marriage really [mean]… that you own me now and I own you? I don’t get that part.

Despite the statement to Essence, Long always supports and congratulates her man on social media.

In his first year with the Celtics despite their loss to Golden State Warriors, Ime Udoka led Boston to the Eastern Conference finals, where his team defeated the Miami Heat to take a trip to the NBA Finals. But all this didn’t stop Black Twitter from attacking his poor decision making and seemingly caring less about his career.

While the woman in question has been divulged, many wonder how Ime will bounce back from this mess he’s in. Others are comparing this to when Jay Z cheated on Beyoncé. Fortunately, that incident didn’t destroy the marriage and the fans benefited from the Lemonade that was made. Who knows what’s next for Ime and Nia Long and their family. I can only hope that for their son its handled quickly and quietly after his very public apology.
