Female EDM DJ Freya Fox Joins Joel Kim Booster at Life is Beautiful as a Surprise Guest

Life is Beautiful 2022 has had its share of surprise performances from Blue Man Group to Loud Luxury. But a newcomer has now been added to that list, enter Janelle “Freya Fox” Kao – Fox is one of the few touring female EDM Artists and is the star of Netflix’s “Light the Night” and “Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega”.

According to a leaked Songkick listing (Songkick is service to announce events for touring musicians and comedians) Fox is scheduled to perform Saturday at the Kicker Stage’s Comedy Lineup at Life Is Beautiful alongside Fire Island star Joel Kim Booster. However, it is unclear how her performance will integrate with a comedy show as she is likely to perform her live EDM set.

Freya Fox’s SoundCloud which has recently been updated with tons of unreleased songs and remixes, gives a hint to what she may be performing. Her recent TikTok Live Takeover included her SoundCloud charting vocal rendition of Porter Robinson and Madeon’s “Shelter” and two new singles labeled as work in progress.

Fox, who is an actress and former professional gamer (her gaming accolades include being the first female Facebook Gaming Fighting Game Champion and representing Bandai Namco for a promotion of Soul Calibur VI), has recently ventured back into music production and live performance after a five year hiatus.

Additionally, Fox recently played the House of Vegas Pride Festival in August 2022. She went viral on Tiktok after a story of the Pride festival fail (she had no stage) by its organizers took the LGBTQ community by storm.

According to Freya Fox’s Official Twitter (@Freyafoxtv), she has always been a musician since she was a child, and performed professionally in Taiwan prior to moving back to the United States in 2016. While she doesn’t have a background in Comedy persay, she has been a live gaming streamer as a former Facebook Gaming Partner and is now a Tiktok Live managed creator, which means she can certainly be witty and charismatic.

At the event, festival goers will have an opportunity to watch stand-up comedy performances, musical acts, and live tapings for several comedy podcasts. Confirmed comedy shows to appear during the festival include “Going Deep with Chad and JT,” hosted by Chad Kroeger and JT Parr; “Celebrity Book Club with Steven & Lily” with Steven Phillips-Horst and Lily Marotta; and “Giggly Squad” with Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo.

Life is Beautiful, will take place Sept 16 to 18 in downtown Las Vegas and this year’s festival will be the first since Rolling Stone acquired a majority stake in it back in March.
