MARO Drops Latest Album ‘Rejects’

With his latest release, the Poland-native record producer, award-winning sound engineer and DJ has matched the complexities of making an album with multiple layers while also encompassing tracks that appeal to any music lover. This can all be found on ‘Rejects’ – the 28-track project that features artists like Deadly Hunta, Kool Keith, and Hip-Hop royalty with Ghostface Killah & Raekwon.

The album feels more like a cinematic experience than a compilation of dope songs. With immaculate production it is clear that MARO took his time with this album. It tells a linear story in the way that a classic film would. Coming into this project he was already a household name. Having spent over 10 years headlining venues all over Europe & Asia he has built a very impressive resume that has seen him work with acts like P-Money, Wu Tang Clan, Lex Lu & Deadly Hunta, to name a few. 

“My goal was to have both the musical layer, the storyline, and the all-important graphic layer, illustrate my universe to the audience. This album is a collection of my fascination with the films, books and music I grew-up on.”

One of the standout singles on the project is ‘Throwback Boogie’ where MARO teams up with Ghostface Killah & Raekwon – who bring their fiery lyricism and unique style over classic new york-style production from MARO himself. The song fits seamlessly into the project and serves as a refreshing reminder of how dominant the two emcees have been and still remain to be.
