Ready To Hit The Stage Jennifer Messina?

After many requests from fellow fans, we finally got ahold of Jennifer Messina, and sat her down for a personal one-on-one interview.
Below, we break down how that interview went.

•    What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
◦    Id be a pediatric surgeon or an attorney. I just love challenging and complicated careers. I also have a spicy jalapeño personality and ready to cross examine lol.

•    Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
◦    I’ve performed at the Boston Bruins, many tv and movie sets, I’ve sang on social media and stages all over the US. My favorite venues are places with loads of people and energy. My least favorite are auditions with 2-3 people. The bigger the better. With Covid opening up, shows are starting to book up! More to follow after my next song release.

•    How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
◦    It has given the little folks who cannot afford to leave their current situation a chance in this business. Everyone has a chance now. Everyone has access to a community that will love and praise their niche.

•    What is your favorite song to perform?
◦    Define Me. It’s my most personal song yet. It’s challenging in my break point of my voice and I love to belt it out every time from my soul.

•    Which famous musicians do you admire?
◦    Right now it’s Demi Lovato. She has been through so many struggles and still continues to get up and win every time she falls. Inspirational.

•    What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
◦    You’ll have to stay tuned. It will probably be in a song too. My mental health has made me make poor decisions but music has helped me come out of it.

•    What is the best advice you’ve been given?
◦    Stay true to yourself. Sounds cheesy but without you being stable and happy with who you are; how can you help or positively impact others. You can’t poor from an empty cup

•    If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
◦    The major labels come up with better opportunities for non connected talent to be seen and celebrated. You have the resources, now go search and give someone fresh a chance.

•    What’s next for you
◦    I started to re-release my music and continue to build my brand. MESSINA is a brand. It’s music, it’s product placement, it’s a lipgloss line and online boutique, it’s a mental health platform and a passionate brand to celebrate ourselves as individuals.
