Dr. Robin B. to Speak at the 2022 ESSENCE Festival of Culture in New Orleans

Dr. Robin B is a pharmacist, entrepreneur, fitness enthusiast, and social media influencer dedicated to helping others live their best lives. Dr. Robin B, also a Fitness App creator, created my lane in the health and beauty space by aligning with missions that promote holistic health, starting with fitness and prevention before medication. Her fitness programs and live workouts help busy professionals build muscle, lose weight and keep it off. Understanding that our bodies’ wellness must align with proper nutrition and self-care, her passion as a pharmacist is not based on medicating our pain but on enriching our bodies through education, consistent workouts, mental stability, daily meditation, and fueling our bodies by embracing healthy eating. Dr. Robin B’s platform promotes healthy living and stimulates the “mind, body and soul,” which is the foundation of her desire to train, teach and mentor others by combining her passion for science and exercise.

A philanthropist and community leader who has curated multiple service initiatives in underserved communities, she was invited to speak at the 2022 Essence Festival in New Orleans. In an interview, when asked what she was most excited about attending Essence as a speaker; she shared she was most excited about being in the lovely city of New Orleans, where Essence Fest took place, because, in the past, she had driven through the city but never had the opportunity to stay long enough to soak up its culture and enjoy it. She couldn’t believe it when she got the news of participating at Essence as a speaker! A believe in faith; the notification reconfirmed she was walking in her purpose, and people wanted to hear what she had to say about healthy weight loss.

At Essence, Dr. Robin B has two sessions where she spoke about Steps To Weight Loss and How to Keep It Off. During these talks, she touched on the science of losing weight, including metabolism, diet, exercise, and mindset. She also addressed the healthiness of weight loss options such as body contouring treatment, surgeries, and FDA-approved prescription weight loss drugs. People have many misconceptions about losing weight (especially regarding ensuring your body receives the nutrients it needs to help with weight loss). People believe their body provides certain vitamins naturally; however, some have to be supplemented, like vitamin C. Also, protein is an essential nutrient we must consume to build muscle and burn fat. There are misconceptions like these that people often overlook, which can lead to Unhealthy Habits or seriously stall any progress someone is trying to make. It’s essential to be educated on the topic of weight loss and understand the steps that are needed to be successful in losing weight and keeping it off long-term. Without this understanding, people will often be yo-yo dieting or developing serious health conditions due to unhealthy habits. And this is one of the reasons Dr. Robin B launched her podcast, The Dose Show.

The Dose Show puts your favorite celebrity personalities’ fitness to the test by challenging their knowledge of health, medicine, and more! What inspired me to launch was knowing that people in entertainment have their ways of staying healthy and practicing self-care. She wanted to explore people’s healthy habits and educate and check their mental health. Plus, it’s fun seeing them answer questions under pressure.

Dr. Robin B is passionate about health and fitness and wants to ensure that people have the information they need to make healthy choices. She frequently gives live updates, appearances, live workouts, programs, and offers on her Instagram page (@dr.robinb). In addition, she writes articles for both medical and lay audiences. Dr. Robin B strongly believes that good health results from physical and mental well-being. That’s why she takes a holistic approach to her work, addressing the needs of the whole person. Her ultimate goal is to help people live long, happy, and healthy lives.
