Mohit Chawla is an Indian hip-hop rapper based in Benin, West Africa. He was born in Jalna, a famous tourist attraction region in Marathwada, India, pursued his education, and secured his first job as a tour guide. Mohit used to entertain guests while accompanying them to the tourist sites. On one lucky day, he sang and played his guitar for the famous Benin artist, Angélique Kidjo, which launched his musical career.

Angélique Kidjo noted Mohit’s talent and volunteered to hone it till he perfected it. She kept her word, and Mohit had produced his first track, a hit that thrilled many in India. This motivated him to create more songs back-to-back, and within a short time, he was a star. People loved his songs, followed him, and gave him views in millions across his social media platforms. The Beninese also loved him because Angélique could promote his music in his country and often invited him over for gigs.

Mohit fell in love with Benin and eventually relocated there. He has done well in the industry and is currently an international brand. Fellow hip-hop stars in Benin also recognize his talent and have collaborated with him to produce mind-blowing tracks. Together with Angélique, they have been working on an album, Diversity, set to launch in August, and are excited to see the reaction from fans. Mohit hopes to one day share a stage with other prominent hip-hop stars like Eminem, Jay Z, and Drake.
