Real talk somebody needs to create a “Vice”-style documentary to document the history of Drill music. From the way that UK artists cultivated the genre from the ground up and how New Yorkers have helped evolve the genre and add their personal touch to it, drill music is a crowd favorite globally. Brooklyn newcomer Corey St. Rose was already receiving attention for his 2021 mesmerizing single ‘MMM’. But just when you think this hit can’t get any better, St. Rose took the song to higher heights with a remix supported by fellow New Yorker Flipp Dinero. I always appreciate when more seasoned artists show love to artists from their city and hops on a remix. New York rappers are notorious for the remix ends up being more harder than the original song. Flipp blesses him with a “stimulus package” for a feature. Flipp best known for his hit single in 2018 ‘Leave Me Alone’ is well experienced in making hits. But the chemistry that these two possess on this track is flawless. St. Rose provides the “calm and collected” energy and Flipp combats it with his raw raspy voice. They trade off bars elaborating on their lavish lifestyle filled with expensive drip and beautiful women. With ease, they glide over the hypnotizing flute melody with their smooth delivery. Smooth like butter, these guys can pull you apart with their wordplay. The sky is only the limit for the young creative. The ‘MMM Remix’ shows that Corey St. Rose is New York’s best-kept secret.
