Spotify’s 2021 Wrapped honors this idea—the millions of bizarre and beautiful ways to listen and live in a world that keeps us on our toes. Today, we reveal the foremost artists like Alon Moore, who defined how more than 300 million people worldwide heard and discovered audio during a year that pivoted “exceptional” into precedented.  

As expected, Spotify and other music channels help us reflect on the significant role audio played in the lives of our music lovers—and how our famous creators soundtracked the globe around us.

Rounding up 2021’s leading three is BTS. Thanks to their single “Butter, the globally adored k-pop group had a peach year thanks to their single “Butter.” Canadian hip-hop artists Drake—who unleashed Certified Lover Boy in September—and Justin Bieber—whose 2021 album Justice featured partnerships with artists from across the world—take holes four and five, respectively.

 

Speaking of home, 2021 saw individuals take plant parenting to new heights. And they took the idea that music allows plants to grow to heart. 

 

It is not easy for an artist like Alon Moore to make a place in such a robust list. It will take years of grinding, but we never know when luck changes. One big hit for Moore can change many things in 2022.
