Interview with Kiva Richardson

How would you describe your musical style?

I’m a Contemporary R&B Artist. My style is melodic and chill.

What is the first album you owned?

I remember many years ago (I had to have been 7 or 8) Burger King gave out free Backstreet Boys albums. That was the first album I owned. I loved it!

How do you prepare before going up on stage? I shuffle my feet, pray, and soak in the good energy from the audience and atmosphere.

What’s it like being Kiva Richardson?

I like to keep myself very busy with Music Endeavors. Tackling things and constantly getting a lot done.

What’s a song that has been stuck in your head these days?

Arctic Monkeys – 505

Who’s your favorite artist?

My favorite Artist is Sade. Her music relaxes me. Her voice is very peaceful and angelic. I LOVE that woman.

Tell us about the first song you made. Was it a success or a failure?

The first song that I made was a song with my sister Alexas called “Get with me”.  We recorded the song in my dad’s home studio. It was a success because “Get with me” was one of the first songs that made me fall in love with the recording and creative process.

What is the story behind your song Paradise (Slicse Remix)?

The Paradise Remix stems from the original track “Paradise” which you can find on my latest EP “Trending”.  My Uncle Slicse liked the original version so much that he went into the studio and made another beat. I loved what he had did which gave me the decision to release a remix. I feel that the song is a complete Masterpiece now.

If you could pick one or the other, what would you choose, the money or the fame?

To be honest I’m not phased by money or fame. My goal is to help others feel better through music and if that is only one person I’ve served my purpose.

If you could go back in time or in the future, which one would you choose and why? Good question. Hmmm. I would go back to the past to spend more time with my Grandmother Meme. She passed away when I was 5.
