New Orleans— 3/15/2022 —Rap artist Onaje’ releases his first single Don’t Sleep (featuring Kidd Kidd, Damani Mac & Perseus) off his upcoming LP Fear Nothing But GOD, set to be released later this year on Groundbreakin.com and all streaming platforms.

“I make big moves like ah elephant do,” quotes Onaje’ in verse one of Don’t Sleep. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA from a family of 13, Jeremiah Onaje ‘McCormick was introduced to rap music at an early age by older brother Percy also known as Perseus.

Perseus introduced his younger siblings into artist such as NWA and the Geto Boys. The first rap song Onaje’ ever learned word for word was “Scarface” at the age of 6. Onaje’ wrote his first rap at the age of 13. Onaje’ recited the roughly 42 bar verse to Perseus who showed major

excitement once Onaje’ concluded his recital. That reaction of excitement from Perseus fed Onaje’ the confidence necessary to continue to perfect his craft and develop into what he has become today.

“I’m scarred in the mind, my ward is the 9, I’m born in July, I’ma emotional Cancer water sign,” quotes Perseus in verse four of Don’t Sleep.

In 2009, Onaje’ and his brother Damani Mac established Groundbreakin’ Entertainment. Damani Mac, Perseus, Onaje’, Gozi and M.C. Nut formed the five-member group, the 9th Ward Blood Brothaz (now called the Spirit Warriorz). The group consists of all siblings. The

independent company have released 6 full length albums and many singles all available on www.groundbreakin.com. Onaje’ will release his next album “Fear Nothing But GOD.” Don’t Sleep is the first single off the fourth coming album. The single is available for immediate

download on www.groundbreakin.com. The single will be officially released on all streaming platforms 3/25/2022.

Don’t Sleep features New Orleans rap star/former Sqad Up member Kidd Kidd. The song also features Onaje’s brothers Damani Mac (also the producer of Don’t Sleep) and Perseus. Onaje’s goal for this video and song was to convey a vintage New Orleans sound coupled with raw lyricism. Onaje’ wanted to offer vintage Hip Hop from a southern point of view.
