8corpses Redefines Music While Touching on Sensitive Topics in His Powerful Lyrics
In an industry where most people sound the same, and some songs are upbeat and meaningless, 8corpses strives to create deep-meaning music that people can connect with while listening. Despite his rough upbringing, he’s making a name for himself in the music industry and has already gained a die-hard fan base consisting of underground music lovers.
Before becoming an underground hip-hop artist known for his new take on the old school hip-hop sound, he worked as a music video editor for various rap artists. The process of editing music videos for other performers inspired him to give music a try in 2019, ultimately leading to such an incredible outcome. As someone who has struggled with and continues to experience schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and addiction, 8Corpses knows what it’s like to go through difficult times and considers music as his outlet. He uses his lyrical talent to help release frustration while discussing various topics that some would consider taboo.
“While editing music videos for other rap artists, I realized that music was something I wanted to do, so I decided that I would try it out to see how it would go. I sat down with a paper and pencil and jotted down verses that came to my head based on my personal experiences and everything I’ve been through over the years. The thoughts kept coming, whichhelped me create the perfect lyrics for several songs that I’ve written,” shares 8corpses. “I’ve experienced my fair share of troubling times and use those scenarios to create meaningful lyrics that listeners can relate to when they hear my songs. I want them to feel something when they listen to the words. My goal is to change the music industry for the better through the power of meaningful lyrics.”
His dedication to writing lyrics that people can relate to and understand because of their own experiences has helped him gain a loyal fan base of people who look forward to hearing about his newest releases. Many listeners agree that 8corpses is a lyrical genius best known for his impressive verses that address some of the most critical topics, including mental health, depression, addiction, PTSD, and schizophrenia.
“I appreciate the fans, and I’m thankful they’re tuning in to my music. They’re not just listening because of the beat. It’s also because they want to hear the words I’m spitting in each of my songs. I’ve had many fans send me messages letting me know that I’ve helped them through some of their darkest and most troubling moments. It makes me feel good to know that people can relate to my songs and that the music I’m producing is helping them overcome their struggles,” shares 8corpses. “Although I love writing my lyrics, rapping, and performing in front of people, it’s the fans that truly keep me going. I want them to know that they’re not alone and that there’s no shame in going through different things in life, such as addiction or mental health issues.”
Known for rapping over boom-bap and phonk instrumentals, 8corpses puts unrelenting effort into telling a story with each song created while bringing the songs to life. His goal is to make listeners feel something from start to finish, ultimately keeping them interested in listening because of his lyrical talent. And, while he’s already built a loyal fan base, he knows this is only the start of something much bigger for him and looks forward to creating more music for people to enjoy.
“I use music as a way to vent and blow off steam. It makes me feel good to let it all out, but I’m also glad that my music is helping other people at the same time. I plan to continue producing music as an underground hip-hop artist with hopes of continuing to touch the lives of people from all walks of life,” he says.
