1. How would you describe your musical style?

The music produced and songs put out all carry a bit of influence from every single culture that’s blessed my eardrums. From hip hop, to house music, Banda, and latin music, old school, funk, disco, edm, trap, and R&B.

2. What is the first album you owned?
The first album I owned was either Eminems Slim Shady LP, or Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory. I’m Mexican af too, so I think I had a cassette of El Coyote y Su Banda lmao.

3. How do you prepare before going up on stage?

Man…depends on the venue to be honest. If it’s a packed crowd and I’m not familiar with the crowd, I get hella nervous. I’ve had to go to bathroom and positive self talk my way through the moment. I think for me a lot of self talk and positivity before the show helps me get ready.

4. If we’re going to buy you a drink, what should it be?

Man. I’ve cut back about 95% on my alcohol consumption. But back in the day, if you brought me a Jack & Coke. Sheeeeeesh!

5. What’s a song that has been stuck in your head these days?

J Cole’s Pride is The Devil. The ego is so powerful. Ive been learning to detach myself from it . So when
Cole dropped that album and I first heard that. I was ready to hear that. It came at the perfect moment. God does wild shit like that all the time. Shout out Cole.

6. Who’s your favorite artist? Currently Bad Bunny, J Balvin, I DJ everywhere, and I always get so many requests for them.

All time? Eminem, Fleetwood Mac, Ramon Ayala, Nate Dogg, Michael Jackson. Sheeesh. So many dope artists out there it’s hard to pick just one fam.

7. Tell us about the first song you made. Was it a success or a failure?

First song made was a hip hop record. I think I freestylled it. Shit was almost 8 years ago. It was horrible. Lol. But was it successful? In my eyes yes. It successfully propelled me to continue on the journey of making music. I’m still here making music passionately, so yes. I think It was very successful.

8. What is the story behind your name ‘LightsOFF’

Well it started as a gimmick because I could have afford DJ lights…so I’d rock parties with no lighting and call myself Lightsoff…

But now that I’ve grown into who Gods called me to be, He’s managed to allow me to use my name as a positive force.

Now it’s Lights Off…I’m giving light off…as in spreading positivity.

My IG name is Lightsoffisforever… initials spell out L.I.F.E

9.If you could pick one or the other, what would you choose, the money or the fame?

The money. I can use the money to rebuild communities, invest in the people, and work on developing more mental health and self help programs. The fame would be cool but ultimately it would be a distraction from the ultimate gameplan.

10.If you could go back in time or in the future, which one would you choose and why?

I would go in the future. The past is done. I’m grateful for everything that’s happened. I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s made me a great human being. Talented and creative. Im looking forward to the future.
