Exclusive Interview: Tressa & Mona Scott-Young Join Forces on BET Her for Short Films Spotlighting Women’s Health Issues

By  |

Tressa “Azarel” Smallwood and Mona ScottYoung have joined forces to empower and inspire through BET Her television. They recently announced that they’ve partnered up to deliver “The Couch” series on July 10 in honor of this year’s Women’s Health Initiative. Through BET Her, they are premiering five short films focusing on women’s health issues.

We recently had the pleasure of interviewing Tressa and Mona to discuss how their collaboration came about, working with Yandy Smith, and the importance of finding your balance in work life. One film we highlighted is Almost Enough which is directed by Mona Scott Young. The film is truly resonating as it chronicles a day in the life of Patience Williams who is on the verge of a mid-life crisis fueled by clinical depression, anxiety and Covid-19.  With everything going wrong, she looks to her new therapist to help turn her life around, and prevent a downward spiral that could take her away from living the life of her dreams.

Watch the interview below and mark your calendars for July 10!
