Meet Shawn Germain, One of 2021’s Entrepreneur Powerhouses
We’d like you to meet multi-faceted entrepreneur, Shawn Germain– a Brooklyn-raised powerhouse based in New York City that you’ll definitely want to get to know. He’s a self-made marketing executive who also happens to be a DJ, a CEO, a talent manager, a social media manager, AND an event coordinator.
First things first: Germain began DJing at the age of 12. His gigs at the time consisted of performing at his local Macy’s on the weekends. Over the years, his gigs began to vary as more people witnessed his talent. By the time he was 16, his musical career had taken off significantly enough for him to be playing at paid, traveling gigs across the country. He was even asked to play for a few local radio shows. After graduating high school, he was being invited to play at several A-list celebrity parties and movie premieres, including Jake Gyllenhaal’s “Nightcrawler” back in 2014. Needless to say, his DJ career took off immediately as he dove in headfirst into being “DJ Shawn G”.
Through his active exposure as a DJ, and while having access to networking relationships with high-profile individuals (both personally and digitally), Germain established the next move of his career. In 2017, he met two social media influencers named Jabbar Hakeem and LiveLikeDavis who each had over 3 million followers on Vine; a popular video streaming platform at the time. After a few discussions about the DJ’s knowledge of the music industry, the internet stars hired Germain as a talent manager to assist with their transitions from social media creators to full-time musicians. Not long after, Germain had added several YouTubers to his list of management clientele. One of them was Coby Persin, who currently has over 6.18 million subscribers on his channel.
By 2018, Germain had opened up his own live event production company in New York City titled Today’s Tomorrow, Inc. The company went on to produce massive live events and parties during the next few years, much like those Germain was used to playing for his DJ gigs.
Since then, Germain founded Tomorrow’s Group, which he established in 2020 as a multi-faceted talent management and marketing company. On one side, the company offers services such as social media management, public relations management, web design and development, and overall business marketing for influencers and business owners. Tomorrow’s Group also doubles as a talent management agency that currently works with several well-known artists in the music industry, including Roc Nation rapper, Casanova. Despite hitting the ground running during a pandemic, in the first few months of 2021 alone, the company has grossed over $200,000 in revenue.
And while he has his plate full, the CEO says he’s not done yet; in fact, he’s only just crossed the starting line. He foresees a total revenue of over $1 million alone with his newly-found marketing agency, and he’s also got a list of events ready to go once nationwide restrictions are lifted from COVID.
