Dreaming of driving luxury cars, ascending emcee Zayzayy releases the first single off his upcoming project, The Start Of Forever titled “G Shock.” Paying homage to the signature sports watch the G Shock, Zayzayy recounts memories of childhood’s past; when he had to be in the streets just to survive. He had dreams of the finer things in life. 

Hood and humble, Zayzayy authenticity shines brightly throughout this latest single. To add more vision to the track, a visual was released, which has an interesting take. 

Directed by Justin Jacobs, the video has Zayzayy and his comrades partaking in a robbery heist with the artist reciting lyrics from “G Shock.” It presents duality to the single in which, with just a listen, you can assume that Zayzayy is reminiscing, but in the video, he is committing crimes to get what he wants. 

He shows that for one, you can technically do both. Two, life is complicated, and sometimes the people with the purest of hearts can end up doing the worst things. In his upcoming project, The Start Of Forever, duality themes include mental health, trauma, pain, black wealth, and glory.
