Trillest Entertainment Presents Exclusive Interview: Rising Artist Blakk Gawd

By  |

What is your name and what city do you rep?

I‘m called Blakk Gawd or Blakk for short. Repping? I rep Colorado Springs. I been all over the world, but the Springs is where I laid my foundation.
Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

“Fressh Fressh” featuring PrettyMF, that’s my dawg and it just happened. I just went with whatever came to mind and she followed behind. That song is one of my top tracks. My latest release “Dream” I made that one after having a conversation with my girl. I told her I’m just trying to dream and I do me and when Vix Bangz, the producer I work with sent me a beat it just went with it so I turned it into a song.
What is unique about you and your music?
Unique? I do know what makes me unique. Honestly I just know I love making music. Every track I make I freestyle. I don’t write and I just listen to the beat and go with whatever feeling the beat gives me. I don’t know if that answers the question of me being unique but that’s how I make my music.

What shaped your music?

Life shapes my music. Either I am going to talk about what I been through, how I feel at that exact moment, or what I want to happen within my life.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

I think I was like 14 or 15 and my pops had my brother and myself freestyle for a karaoke machine. Everybody was just suppose to kick a freestyle and
whoever he liked the best would win the machine. When it came to me to kick my freestyle in the mist of me spitting I seen how my pops was into what I was saying, and so did my brother. Now it went from a freestyle to a rap battle. All at once they going on me. I held my own though and won the machine. After that I was like yea, I’m gonna be a rapper.

What type of music do you listen to?

It depends on the mood. I like oldies though. They just give off a chill vibe. I might know the words but the energy that comes from the music just calms me.

If I’m in the gym its Moneybagg or one of the Babies. If I’m trying to be in deep thought it’s Jcole, Nipsey, or Wale, etc.  It depends on the mood.

What inspires you to write music?

It’s therapeutic for me honestly. I just spit how I feel then put it out to the world thinking maybe someone will relate to it.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

If not kicking it with the family. I’ll meditate for hours. Meditation feels so good. It helps clear my mind and all that. I also write little simple reads that can be found on Amazon.

My most recent book title, “There’s No Such Thing as Cheating” has been doing pretty good. I think it’s a good read as well. You should check it out when you get a chance.

Happiness to you is…

Living within a positive realm. The only thing that can make me happy is positive energy. I’m happy when I can freely vibrate on high levels. When someone or something takes that away from me I have to remove myself.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

It’s not going to happen overnight. When I was younger I thought since I’m a rapper the world needs to open every door automatically and let everyone know Blakk is a rapper, but that didn’t happen. I was like I really have to make people care that I am a rapper and it’s gonna take more than some weeks to get their attention. SO need to have drive, motivation, and patience with this.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

Blakk Bianchi II. I love this album because I have all the artists I rock with in Colorado on the album and my brother all the way in Australia produced it. Plus, its me. The continuation of Blakk Binachi and it’s definitely a project to remember.

Where do we find you music / music projects?

All major music platforms. Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
Any last words for the readers?

I just want to thank the time to shoutout the C7 Family and the ones who rock with the C7 Family and thanks for this opportunity.
