Morning fam,

Video Description:
Uptown Maine is a rap artist from the Bronx, now residing in Fayetteville, NC. After hearing about the untimely murder of George Floyd by a police officer, Uptown, like many of us, were disturbed and even traumitized after constantly seeing the footage on social media.

“There has been many cases of racial injustice throughout the years and, us as Black people, have suffered for far too long. I was inspired to write the song “No justice no peace” when I was in the living room watching a protest on TV and my oldest daughter asked me what I was watching. I then explained to her what has been going on in the country with Black people fighting against police brutality.

She responded and said “I thought police was good people aren’t they suppose to help us?” As a father of two black girls growing up in America I want to teach them early about the Civil Rights Movement and activists such as the Black Panthers, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and so on,” Uptown Maine shares with us.

Uptown Maine hopes viewers see that “No Justice No Peace“ is more than just the protest, and that it’s about praying and building towards a better world for our next generation. Watch the @NoRatchetss-directed visual below!
