Hollye Monro-Makin’ Power Moves From The Rip!

It’s hard to believe that “Drop” is the first official single from the dynamic indie artist, Hollye Monro. This glamorous fashionista’s Hip Hop track is being played daily on the largest and most influential urban rhythmic station in Philadelphia, Power 99fm. In September, she played the main stage at The Queen which was recently graced by Chaka Khan, State Property and Jadakiss. The Rap Goddess has already toured the East Coast with the juggernaut, “Hip Hop Since 1987.” It’s pretty amazing when you think about! It almost seems out of order….

If you were to define a blueprint for how to begin a Hip Hop or any music career, step one would probably be the very realization of your talent and spittin in safe zones like your basement or around a small group of friends. But nowhere in that blueprint would it say the next step is to take a quantum leap to a major venue such as The Chase Center on The Riverfront of Wilmington, DE, a sizable house that has hosted the likes of El Debarge and Kirk Franklin.

But at the ripe age of 13 Hollye Monro did just that. She jumped at a rare opportunity, performing an original song, “Hollye” to such an enthusiastic audience of youths that she was literally “chased” from The Chase Center. That was it! A seed had been planted.

Hollye hails from a musical family. Her father is a well-known producer so she grew up in the studio. Though she had the support network, she put in the work, honing her skills, even as a child so when the opportunity came….she was ready!

Respectfully, Hollye took some time off from music to purse her degree at The Academy of Art in San Francisco where she studied fashion. But Ms. Monro couldn’t leave the music alone! Fast forward to 2019, Hollye drops her first official single, titled, “Drop” and goes on tour. She was selected to embark on “Hip Hop Since 1987’s” major city tour with stops in Philly, Brooklyn, Tampa, ATL and Miami! Due to her savvy team, she was able to network and make additional appearances in between tour dates including a coveted spot on K 100 in Atlanta
