Cloudflare outage takes down a large portion of the Internet

If you were wondering why thisis50.com wasn’t accessible earlier today, Cloudflare co-founder and CEO Matthew Prince (@eastdakota) said a “massive spike in CPU usage” was to blame for the widespread outages and that the issue appears to have been mitigated.
Coincidentally, we use Cloudflare to mitigate massive spikes in CPU usage (amongst other things). So, there’s that.
The Internet is a fickle beast and we apologize if our being down caused any inconveniences.
