Michael Avenatti indicted on 36 counts of fraud, perjury, failure to pay taxes, embezzlement and other financial crimes

Michael Avenatti was indicted Thursday morning on 36 counts of fraud, perjury, failure to pay taxes, embezzlement and other financial crimes including hiding a $4 million settlement from a mentally ill paraplegic on disability.

The new charges do not include the New York extortion case alleging Avenatti demanded millions to stay quiet about claims he planned to reveal about Nike paying high school players.

Avenatti if facing up to 335 years in prison if convicted, according to the Los Angeles Times.
