Pounds feat. Daniel Son & Crimeapple – “55K”- Prod. by Max Marciano

By  |

The hustle is never-ending for New York spitter POUNDS who, after recently dropping his well received Borgata EP with Oh No, returns today with new video/single “55K,” featuring fellow rising underground emcees Daniel Son and CRIMEAPPLE.

It’s actually the Toronto-based Daniel Son who leads the way on the Max Marciano-produced burner, as he kicks things off with hard-nosed rhymes aimed for police and his enemies. But he also big-ups his contemporaries—“Went from movin’ pounds to movin’ with POUNDS, watch how the tables turn”—who return the favor by delivering equally raw verses filled with mafioso bars and slick references.

Jersey’s own CRIMEAPPLE splits his time between talkin’ sh*t and praising his collaborators, too, delivering lines like, “POUNDS set the table, you know I came with the stomach ache/ Daniel Son cookin’ the product to make the bucket shake.” And of course there’s POUNDS, who commands attention with a track-ending verse that’s as cold as can be (“If I was George I would have killed Diego on the spot,” he spits in reference to Blow).
