the old rap artits were young to, when the began rappin, like 17, 18 years old, but they had respect and know what they talk about in rap, that was the difference, young rappers can do it too, but it is allot easier now to let the industry do it for them, they just have to nudge there heads look black and hiphop.

Couldn't have said it better, I definitely have a severe lack of respect for newer hiphop artists, I should try to understand them more and not block them out so much, at the same time new hiphop artists should try to work with the old hiphop to gain a larger fanbase.

I totally agree with Rakim ..im 34 years old ' but fuck that i been into hip hop since as long as i can remember like early early 80's and I will continue to do so.I feel the older you are the more creative you are capable of being because you have seen the music shift several times. and you don't make music for the now ' if you will ' but you should make music based on how you feel at the time. thats just my opinion.

Rakim is Hip Hop, and he speaks the way the people he surounds himself with speak.

And if you really listened to Ra's records you'd know that Ra deals with extremely mature topics in a writing style that belays years of dedication to his craft.

As for Ghostface, I feel like he's been rappin' from the level of maturity and wisdom he's at for years, it just took his listeners some time to catch up with him.

And new album that's kinda putting it in their faces.

1.) I love Rakim. No doubt about it. I just think he needs to take his own advice and stop speakN like a 21 year old with a limited vocabulary that says "Nah mean" and licks his lips every 5 seconds. People call dudes like him old because it seems as if he is still tryna fit in with the younger crowd instead of continually creating something the older crowd should aspire to be! I like Ghostface because he isn't out there rappN bout movin' birds and Chez Cher la Ghost anymore, he is a family man and he has found a way to rap about it in a way that is appealing to both young and old crowds.

2.) That nigga has got some of the BLACKEST lips I have ever seen in my LIFE!!! I smoked weed for a LOT of years and I am glad I stopped and I don't have black ass lips cuz I used Carmex like it was goin' outta style LOL. And the way he and LL lick their lips all the time just make mine hurt as if they are chapped and bleeding like you would expect theirs to be!!
