50 Cent Lifts Rocsi's Skirt, Nas Ain't Nobody's N*gga, Prodigy Sh*ts On "Europeans," Majors Leave NY Rap For Dead

In this week's Pulse Report the streets are buzzing about, 50 Cent airing out Rocsi from "106 & Park," Reverend Al Sharpton preaching good faith to Nas, Saigon breaking the chains of slavery and Prodigy becoming a freedom fighter in prison.

1. Video h*e? No one can ever say that 50 Cent isn't an equal opportunity warmonger. The infamously aggressive, hardcore rapper has found another adversary to battle and it's none other than BET's petite hostess Rocsi. Now, one might immediately say this is an unfair fight, true. But it is not one the Queens rapper started.
A video of the normally bubbly hostess recently surfaced on the net where she trashes Fif's Curtis album calling it "garbage" in comparison to Kanye West's Graduation. Though the recording was obviously done in or around September 2007, it still came as a surprise to see what looks like a slightly inebriated Rocsi coming out of pocket on the rap kingpin.

As expected 50 fired back and his response was pretty damning. During a phone interview Washington, D.C. radio station 93.9 Curtis put Rocsi on blast for sleeping with "four people" he knows - presumably not all at the same time. [Listen here]
For the first time I can't be mad at 50 for going at someone. Lil' Rosci was out of line. Coming from the position of someone in entertainment who is supposed to be as objective as possible she was wrong for expressing her feelings so publicly and in that manner. Who does she think she is? Mrs. Archie Fucque. Hmmm. That ain't such a bad idea. Holla at the kid, Rocs!
For real though, Rocsi's behavior not only looks bad on her part, but also puts BET in a compromising situation with an artist. With that said, I must say 50 was real wack for trying to paint her as a h*e. "I know four people she slept with." So what! Is that the best you could come up with to get back at her? You try to degrade her. That' some real high school sh*t right there.
2. Take'em To Church. Reverend Al Sharpton found himself in the midst of a couple of big hip-hop stories this week. First, when Nas decided against naming his album N*gger, some prayers where answered, none more than Rev. Al Sharpton. The permed out political activist was one of the leading opponents to Nas's controversial album, even threatening serious protests if the rapper and his record label Def Jam went through with the project. And now that he's gotten his wish, Rev. Al told the New York Daily News he's happy hip-hop is getting the message.
"I see this as a partial victory," Sharpton said, who has been among those calling for hip-hoppers to stop using the racist epithet. "The record companies have to consider the downside of using it, businesswise. That would not have happened if we hadn't protested."
Can't really call this a major victory for Al. The truth of the matter is Nas caved under the pressure of not being able to make a dime off this record. More so than Rev Al's protesting, Nas was afraid he'd take an L on this record and would have to depend on Kelis' next project to be the bread winner in the Jones household. Ugh! Yeah, I'd cut a n*gga off for that too.
Well that's as good as it gets for Rev Al. He also had his name dragged through the mud this week, when he was accused by a former Dr. Dre associate of attempting to extort money from the super producer to help end the 50 Cent and Game feud in 2005.
Sharpton's National Action Network quickly put out a statement denying the allegation.
I always thought Rev Al was a shady character. Come on, remove the "Rev" and I ask you, would you trust a fat black guy with a perm who allegedly cheats on his taxes. Hell naw! But the good Reverend gets a pass, because when you find yourself the victim of sensational ass whooping (or dead) at the hands of the police, he's got your back. In my case one of these rappers get out of line over something I said, I know Rev Al has got my back. So, I wish a n*gga would.
3. Sai-Gone. Brooklyn rapper Saigon has ended his 3 year relationship with Atlantic Records by negotiating a deal to get out of his contract. Frustrated with the label' vision for his album Saigon told Billboard he's in talks with other major labels, but looking at non-traditional prospects as well.
"I'm not that excited about going to a major label," Saigon said. "They would have to make it so I'm set for the rest of my life. [Labels] want too much for the little that they're giving."
Wow. Another east coast rapper is on hip-hop's h*e stroll looking for a new pimp. I find this kind of situation very alarming. No offense to the South, but why is it so hard for marginally talented east coast rappers to put music out, yet marginally talented southern acts are able to crank out records with ease. Seriously how is someone like Lil' Will able to get a record/video on BET, while the Saigon's of the world struggle to be heard? Have record labels abandoned an entire region of music? Sounds like a conspiracy to me. Wake up people!
4. Euro Trash. Our favorite rap blogger, Prodigy is back with another infamous entry. In his latest blogger rant over at Vibe.com the incarcerated scarface morphs into a freedom fighter and goes in on the Europeans. Here's what P had to say in his unmistakable ALL-CAP scribing.
MOSTLY ALL OF THE LAND THE EUROPEANS INVADED HAVE (sic) BECOME "POLITICALLY CORRECT," AND THERE IS EQUAL HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL, RIGHT? WELL, LET ME SHARE SOMETHING WITH YOU ALL. EVEN IF THAT STATEMENT IS RIGHT, EUROPEANS GOT A LOT OF NERVE TO JUST TAKE OVER PEOPLE'S LAND WITH MURDEROUS FORCE AND THEN AFTER HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF PRESSURE FROM THESE PEOPLE WHOSE LAND THEY STOLE AND NOW THEY SAY "WE'RE SORRY FOR WIPING OUT YOUR ANCESTORS AND SUCKING YOUR NATURAL RESOURCES DRY, SO YOU ARE NOW FREE AND EQUAL."
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE? THE f*ckING WIZARDS OF OZ? FREE? EQUAL? BULLsh*t!
Word to P, dunny. He's got a point right there. Matter fact I say we dead all these foreign cats coming over here to rap. Them Dizzie Rascal, Webbie and Lil' Boosie type cats. I don't understand what they be saying no way. Wait, Webbie and Boosie are from Baton Rouge. Hmmm, they some Creole ma'f*ckers, it's all the same thing.
5. A Page For History. Though the murder of legendary Run DMC DJ, Jam Master Jay, still remains unsolved a crucial piece of evidence from the case was made known to the public this week. MTV was able to obtain the contents of Jay's two-way pager, which has been in the possession of his close friend Eric "Shake" James since the day before Jay passed away. While the two-way pager holds personal records important to Jay's murder case, it also holds some eerie yet poignant messages that came in moments after Jay's death. Messages came in from folks like Busta Rhymes, DJ Red Alert and Rev Run.
Some of the messages read:
"Jay? People saying you shot?"
"I guess Pac and B.I.G. needed a DJ."
Rev. Run simply wrote: "I love you, man."
Damn! Sorry to end on that note, but we all know Jam Master Jay is missed. R.I.P. Jay!
