DEF JAM...We have a Problem: Triple C's Only Manges To Sell 12,000 Copies [Is DJ Khaled Ruining the Def Jam Brand?]- Poll Inside
Just when you thought things couldn't get any worst for Def Jam...Out comes the HORRIFIC Triple C's debut album, "Custom Cars & Cycles." Triple C's managed to sell a whopping 12,000 copies of their debut album.
Def Jam might be re-thinking the whole idea of making DJ Khaled the President of Def Jam South. To date, DJ Khaled has released 2 Ace Hood albums in ONE year under the Def Jam imprint. Both of Ace Hood's albums combined didn't sell more than 30,000 units. This has never been seen in the entire history of Def Jam Recordings.
Not to mention DJ Khaled's instigating of the 50 Cent/ Rick Ross beef which in the end destroyed and severely hurt Officer Ricky's credibility. Also after spending $3 Million to promote his album, "Deeper Than Rap," Rick's sales did not refelect the $3 Million that was spent in marketing dollars. At what point does Def Jam draw the line and say ,'Enough is Enough?'

Hell Yeah DJ Khaled is ruining the brand. That dude is a marketing killer. If he would've never opened his mouth and just stayed doing his thizzle on the mixtapes, productions and been more behind the scenes, he would have been more official. Instead he pollutes the air waves with his "We the Best" slogan, plus the dude even has the audacity to say the word "nigger". Cmon son. Get a grip, you're Middle Eastern. I get sick of dudes like him. I got a word for that mofo. Fugazi.
One of the main reason 50's shit sells is because the dude is a marketing genius and he takes care of his peoples. Cmon, his boys Yayo and Lloyd are laced son. And so are the dudes on the G-Unit West faction. Jay-z, Dame...In regards to those guys, just goes to show you that they have a lot of bigger fish trying to move units.
In a sense, i feel Beanie Sigel is sincere in his coming at Jay_Z and all. I respect both of these cats but I'm leaning more to Beanie's side because I havent heard a proper rebutal from Jay-Z. He might plead the fifth and brush that shit off as hate, but the real story is slowly coming out.
JayZ maybe a huge mogul and all, but does he take care of his people? Hmmmm.....Don't know. I'm gonna keep my ear to the streets on this one. Eventually the real truth will come out soon...
