- Who said, “Nothing is perfect”- A1 Records. Born on April 18, 1986 in Detroit, Michigan, Shon Wil is a twenty-two year-old entrepreneur. Shon Wil is the founder of recording label A1 Records, and creator of "RAP ART" - The Movement of Art and Hip-Hop! Shon has painted portraits for Obie Trice, Bishop Lamont , 40 Glocc, Lil He, Gail Gottie, Frank Nitty, Big Boy from Channel 955 Detroit and more! Is Shon Wil the next major name in Hip-Hop? In an Industry where image is often promoted above musical content, Shon Wil retains a real and true outlook. The young Detroit native: writes, records, produces, and mix/masters his own original music. Bringing harmonic hooks and rap verses, the young rap artist wants more than just local recognition. Shon spends most of his time in his studio that he hand built without any assistance. This project took him two weeks to complete. Shon Wil’s first interest in music came at a very young age, writing poetry to relieve emotions and stress. At the age of 16, Shon recorded his first song entitled “My Life”. At that moment, he then knew what he was put on his earth to do: to be a Rap-Star. Although Shon’s major influences are Notorious BIG, 2-Pac, and Jay-Z his style is not compared. “I believe the rap game is upside down, and my goal is to put it back right side up,” says the young artist. His love for music is much more than a hobby and entertainment but, a way of life. This perfectionist is about gaining creative control and establishing credibility. Shon Wil has already droped the "GET REAL" Mixtape on October 31, 2006, under his record label A1 Records. Shon is now working on his album that is set to drop summer of 2008! Shon Wil is now residing in Chicago, working on his bachelor degree in Game Art design. Shon is a true definition of an all around artist. “I’ve been drawing since I can remember,” says the artistically inclined entrepreneur. Shon has painted portraits for celebrities, as well as backdrops for clubs and concerts. Shon has also stared in a television show entitled “Brush with Greatness”, where he demonstrated the steps on how to paint a portrait. Shon Wil is currently working on a clothing line called “The A1 Collection” made for men and women of all ages, set to release summer of 2008. All A1 Collection products are designed by Shon Wil. Is Shon Wil the next major name in the music industry? This twenty-two year-old genesis is filled with so much unique talent and universal skill that he is unstoppable.
