Someone asked me once:

In reply to that question from one of my bunnies-

Koman is a form of Brown Liquor, a coniac (I speeled that wrong too) and I really wanted to change my artist name in 2002....I saw Koman and thought about mixing Koman with something Irish sounding. Mick is a slang term for Irish people. So Mc is also popular 2 letters in Irish Last Names. I always used to call myself KWIN MD.



I never defined the MD. Then I thought of myself as a "Macadocious Pimpy" type personality. That's where cats call themselves a Don. Up in Philly they all have this way of putting a "Y" on the end of nick names. My Dad grew up here he was "Quinny" or his first name was Joe the Italians would yell out "Joely"....My neighbors next door grandmom called me Robby (My first name with a "Y") she called her son "Franny"....This whole "Y" thing on the end of Male names is femine & annoying to me. But at the same time it's part of my life & a traditional culture that stems from South Philly peoples. So



Mc for the Irish heritage, Koman because I drink, Don for my smoov & pimpy ways, "i" instead of "Y" because the "Y" is annoying me to this day but I can't forget where I came from & my traditional culture....My Hood....
