I agree, Eminem is one of the best, but I don't think it's a clear-cut title to just hand to any one rapper. I like that Eminem doesn't spend the majority of his time rapping about how 'real' and 'hard' he is (like many of these so-called legends, I'm sorry to say), or even about how he's 'the best', which is what a great percentage of rappers always rap about. That's what really makes him stand out-- plus, he's got a sick flow. I think one of the greatest is also Lupe Fiasco, who for some reason seems to get left out of these 'best rapper' discussions and yet if you listen to his stuff, it's truly poetry at its heart, which is what hip-hop was originally about in the first place-- expression of thoughts/feelings/emotions-- Eminem does that, so does Lupe, and that's why people like them, amongst others, are the best rappers, without drawing any rigid lines around the subject.
